Invisible Leadership
My youngest son has spent all his time hanging out in his older brother’s room, who is away at college. This didn’t make sense to me at first since my youngest son has a room of his own. And then it dawned on me that my young son sees his brother as a leader, looking up to him, and wants to live like him in his space.
This made me think about leadership. How often people look up to us, and we don’t even see it. We can often lead well without even realizing that anybody is actually following. There are people in your life that are watching you, and although you may not see it, you’re leading them. People in your life want to see what you’ll do next and are hanging on your words and actions.
Like my youngest son, there are people around you that want to share your space. They are looking for mentors and watching you as you lead them invisibly.
